Alan - Magician, Mentalist & Motivator

Alan Jones has been described as Cornwall's answer to Derren Brown. Presenting ENIGMATIC ENTERTAINMENTS Alan has performed at a wide range of venues and both in the UK and Internationally. He mixes magic, psychology and theatrical techniques to present what he calls Unusual, Uncanny and Unearthly encounters. It has been suggested that he is one of the South West's leading magical entertainers. Certainly other professionals have praised his work and has received several awards for his contributions to magic and the magical arts.

Alan specialises in presentations of Psychological Illusion, Mind Magic, Mentalism, Bizarre Magic and Seance Recreations. As alter ego Wizard Longstaff - The Cornish Wizard - Alan also presents story telling and spooky children's magic for younger audiences. .Comfortable with cabaret, theatre and intimate audiences he is able to a range of entertainment solutions - from a short cabaret spot to a full evening theatre show..... from a small house party to a large corporate function.... from intimate after dinner entertainment to headline grabbing promotional stunts.

Alan's Corporate clients have included Xerox, GE Money, Overseas Properties 4 U. Lycia Properties, Business League, Whitehouse Partnership, Communication Station UK, Dynamics and he has appeared at Trade Shows and Conferences throughout the UK - NEC (Birmingham), Reebok Stadium, Royal Albert Hall, Winter Gardens (Weston Super Mare) to name a few.

Alan has appeared on TV and between 2006 and 2008 appeared as resident Mind Magician on BBC Radio Devon and Cornwall. This was perhaps the longest running magic-on-the-radio residency in recent years. He currently has his own weekly radio show on Penwith Community Radio - an internet radio station  with plans to go FM in 2011.

Alongside his magical performances Alan often entertains as a musician and has had several residencies in hotels and clubs as a singer-guitarist.

Alan has Directed and Co-Directed several pro-am theatre productions including Dine with Vampires, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeny Todd, Smike, Grease as well as appearing in productions of Grease, Guys and Dolls and the Pantomimes Old KIng Cole, Mother Goose and Aladdin

The other aspect of Alan's work is training and hence he often refers to himself as an EDU-TAINER. He works with businesses and within education where he blends entertainment and expertise to provide a range of training solutions. The Magic 4 Learning Programme is something that Alan has been developing for sometime. In 2008 the programme was trialled in two Cornish Senior Schools and during 2009 Alan has presented workshops and sessions on Magic and Numeracy and Magic and Literacy (he has called them Mathe-Magical Mages and Word Wizards respectively). It is hoped that there will soon be a series of books and teachers resources for Magic 4 Learning Programme - the first of these being the Math-e-Magical Mages book available from Magic4Learning.com.
